Stewart Udall, U.S. Secretary of the Interior, 1961 to 1969, died on March 20, 2010 at the age of 90. He was a paragon of purity and dedication. His noble aim was to preserve the earth for future generations. Like Udall, it is important for artists to work with a clear vision, purity of mind and devotion in the making of art.
I always like to keep the wonder of enthusiasm being in an art school, to share and to move onward collegially. My first fascination with art was from a calendar in Hong Kong. I was in my teens. The images were a collection of ships done with the technique in engraving. In my degree candidacy, I talked about my aim to excel in drawing and the importance of an overview of our existence. I titled my thesis, “To See Or To Perish.” It is from that height and a fire in my heart that I work, I write and I create visual images.
