My artwork reflects my interest in color, texture, and design. The interplay of these elements can be seen in my prints and acrylic and mixed-media paintings and drawings. Using an expressive style, I produce work inspired by found objects such as ornamental grasses, by other images from nature, and by digital photographs taken while traveling.
I am a member of Touchstone Gallery, a cooperative in

I primarily work in the following media: monotype, polymer intaglio, screen-printing, and acrylic and mixed-media painting and drawing.
A monotype is a one-of-a-kind print. It is produced by creating an image on a flat, smooth surface (a “plate”) and then printing the design on a piece of paper using a hand-operated etching press or some other means to transfer the image from the plate to the paper. Once the design is transferred from the plate, very little of the original design is left on the plate. For this reason there is only one print, a monotype, made from the image that was originally on the plate.
Generally I use a piece of Plexiglas as my plate and use etching or lithographic ink to produce the image. Frequently a series of inked plates are used to create one monotype. I always use archival-quality paper for my monotypes.
Polymer intaglio uses ultraviolet light to transfer an image to a copper plate to which a photopolymer film has been affixed. I then use the plate to create etchings or other intaglio prints.
Screen printing is a form of stenciling. It involves transferring an image to a stretched piece of fabric (a screen) and then forcing ink through the screen onto a piece of archival-quality paper. Multiple screens may be used to create the final image.
An acrylic painting is created with paints that have acrylic polymer emulsion as a base. A mixed-media painting or drawing is produced with more than one medium, such as acrylic and charcoal, ink and oil pastel, and many other combinations.
