Each image made is meant to become its own entity. It is born from fluids and dries up, reflecting the life cycle. Parts die and are renewed. I constantly try to find new ways to combine various contrasting elements that breathe life into a painting. By recycling ideas and materials, I create an image that becomes an illusion full of different realities and remnants of movement. By constantly using spontaneous layering processes, I reflect the inconsistency of natural human behavior and therefore make the most of the messes created. This approach also speaks of how beauty is nothing more than certain combinations of “imperfections.” Each person is compiled uniquely and will naturally perceive things differently. My ultimate goal is to create dissonance between the materials and subject matter, yet push for harmony and balance in the final design. In the end, each painting is not about one particular story, but consists of several; conscious and subconscious, abstract and representational, every part must be considered and is full of personal symbolism.
