The Southwest meets
Washington
,
DC
with an explosion of colors. Inspired by the larger than life landscapes and bright colors of the southwest and Mexican culture, Dorri Thyden’s artwork brings together a vibrant spectrum of color into every painting. Believing that “art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life,” her paintings are never dark or moody and whether landscapes, still life or abstract, her work is representational with a creative perspective and meant to inspire positive results.
In “Capitol Colors”, which will be exhibited in Annex A, Dorri displays her signature colors through a variety of iconic images of
Washington
,
D.C.
Images include colorful representations of
Washington
’s most recognizable monuments, as well as creative depictions of political icons. Annex B will showcase paintings with a Latin flare that illustrate some of the rich vibrant cultures of the southwest.
