Summer in the City Student Art Show
Touchstone Gallery and Touchstone Foundation for the Arts are excited to announce the High School Art Show Summer in the City.
The theme, Summer in the City, is designed to bring young DMV artists together and bond over the shared experience of fun, nervewrecking, carefree, easy, or busy summers in the metropolitan area.
All artworks must be sized at 10” x 10” and most mediums are accepted, including paint, collage, photography, digital art, and more. Sculptures must not stick out more than 5 inches from the wall. Unfortunately, video works cannot be accommodated in this show.
TIMELINE
Registration deadline: Tuesday, July 29, 2025
Artwork drop-off deadline: Friday, August 1, 2025
Show & Event date: Tuesday, August 5 from 2 pm - 7 pm, with a reception from 5-7 pm.
GUIDELINES
Each artist may submit only one 10 inch by 10 inch artwork (10” x 10”).
All artwork must have been created in 2025
If applicants submit artwork that is not 10” x 10”, the applicant is disqualified from the judging of the artwork. Oversized artworks may not be installed.
Artists are responsible for the delivery of the work to the gallery.
All artwork must be original and use of copyrighted images or materials is prohibited. Digital artwork must be created entirely by the artist, not an AI software program.
Touchstone Gallery may use images of accepted artworks for media and publicity purposes.
Literary performances/readings must be 3 minutes or less.
All artists must be 13-19 years old and located in the DMV-area (high school classes of 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028 or 2029).
