About the Artist
Valerie Bernat is largely inspired by the local art scene, finding there is always more to discover, explore, and enjoy, and hopes to convey that delight in her pieces. She creates watercolors, collages, drawings and other mixed media works, incorporating various materials such as buttons, yarn, and handmade beads.
Bernat loves being immersed in the art world, especially here in Washington, D.C. where she started as a docent at the National Gallery of Art in 2003. She has been a member at Touchstone since 2018.
