“As a landscape artist, I have always been an admirer of Gustav Klimt's Landscapes. Less know than his portraits of ladies belonging to the Vienna aristocracy, the former show Klimt's artistic talent without the glamor present in the latter. A few years ago, I developed a series of paintings in which I did not try to imitate his work, but rather use some of his distinctive elements present one way or the other in his landscapes. The way he depicted flowers, terrain, tree trunks, water reflections can be found in my painting. The only element related to his other work, is the use of metal leaf to represent a large tree by the edge of the lake.”
