LINDA BANKERD

About the Artist

Linda Bankerd has been making art in the Washington area for many years. She is a graduate of the College of Mount Saint Vincent and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She has further developed her painting skills under the tutelage of Deanna Schwartzberg at the Art League in Alexandria’s Torpedo Factory.

She works primarily in acrylic. She typically paints on large format canvases utilizing paint, collage, and oil pastel. Her style could be described as representational abstract or purely abstract. Imagery including landscape, figures, interiors and still lives may appear in her work, or not, yielding to purely non-representational paintings. Bankerd shows mainly at Touchstone Gallery, Zatista, and the Art League.

Her recent solo exhibitions at Touchstone Gallery include: Nothing is Real (2023), Luscious Landscapes (2019), and Home is Where the Art Is (2016).
