Theme: growing pains
Prospectus: Growing Pains encourages student artists to submit work that explores ideas revolving around themes of growing up and experiencing childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. How much can a person transform throughout these years? How are we the same? How are we different? How do we metamorphose?
Parameters: Artists ages 14-22 may submit up to two works with a $5 application fee (people may contact the gallery for a fee waiver if this presents a financial burden). All original, visual mediums are accepted, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, installations, video, and more. This exhibition will include a physical gallery show located in Washington, DC.
All physical works must arrive to the gallery ready to hang. Artists are responsible for the delivery and retrieval of their work. Works must be dropped off during gallery business hours (Wednesday-Sunday 12-5). All artwork must fit through a standard doorway. The largest dimension must be no bigger than 36”. Suspended works cannot weigh over 10 lbs. Touchstone Gallery may use images of accepted works for media and publicity purposes
