VALERIE BERNAT
About the Artist
Valerie Bernat loves being immersed in the art world, especially here in Washington, D.C., where she has been a docent at the National Gallery of Art giving tours to the public for more than 20 years. Her experience at the gallery led her into learning more about art by doing it - in watercolor classes at the Art League. Persistence and hard work have paid off. She has been a member of Touchstone since 2018.
Valerie loves experimenting with different processes and materials including watercolor, collaged papers, and embellishments such as applied stitching, buttons and handmade beads. She finds inspiration in conversations with visitors on her tours and on the trails of Shenandoah National Park.
