Opening Reception: Satruday, March 29 from 5-8 pm
The abstract paintings and mixed media pieces of Connie Elsberg’s solo exhibition Coming Together touch on several themes including evoking light and windows; energy, movement and journeys; and objects floating in space. Two of the paintings were made in response to works by Richard Diebenkorn and Laxman Shreshtha.
Elsberg thinks of painting as the process of combining elements and creating a mood. She finds that the way in which the elements come together is always something of a surprise. “As my work is intuitive, I don’t necessarily begin with a clear subject or purpose, and my paintings are varied in style and subject. They are more about process than subject.”
