McCain McMurray developed his love for structure, form, and color from over 30 years working as an architect. His work is about capturing the essence of the natural and constructed world in its most fundamental forms. Much of McMurray’s art has been inspired by architecture—windows, doors, openings, or buildings. He abstracts architectural elements using structure, colors, textures, and layering to explore a “view.”
Structure as Form will exhibit his most recent paintings—where he continues to refine, simplify, and create works that are ordered; or structured compositions of clear color and subtle textures, orthogonal forms stripped of their essence.
